Health Savings Account (HSA)

A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a tax-exempt account established for paying for qualified medical expenses for you and your family. You must meet certain requirements:

You must be covered under a high-deductible health plan (HDHP).
You cannot be covered by any other health plan including Medicare; and
You cannot be claimed as a dependent on another individual's tax return.

Christmas Club

Legacy Bank offers a Christmas Club Savings Plan. If you make regular payments to the account for 11 months, we will make the last payment up to $20.00. The balance of the account is sent to you by the end of October in time to do your Christmas Shopping.

Savings Bonds

Legacy Bank is authorized to issue Series EE and Series I Savings Bonds in accordance with Federal Regulations.

Each depositor is insured up to at least $250,000 through FDIC.

Notice of Changes in Temporary FDIC Insurance Coverage for Transaction Accounts

All funds in a "noninterest-bearing transaction account" are insured in full by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation from December 31, 2010, through December 31, 2012. This temporary unlimited coverage is in addition to, and separate from, the coverage of at least $250,000 available to depositors under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

The term "noninterest-bearing transaction account" includes a traditional checking account or demand deposit account on which the insured depository institution pays no interest. It also includes Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts ("IOLTAs"). It does not include other accounts, such as traditional checking or demand deposit accounts that may earn interest, NOW accounts, and money-market deposit accounts.
