  Chan was raised on a farm in Southeast Nebraska where he graduated from Peru State College with a degree in Language Arts. He is also a graduate of the Missouri School of Banking, Missouri School of Lending, and the Graduate School of Banking/Madison, Wisconsin. His first ten years in banking were spent with Century Bank of The Ozarks at their Gainesville and Ava locations. Chan enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time with friends at the lake.
